He is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales. William is the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He is second in the line of succession to the British throne, after his father.
William spent his early childhood at Kensington Palace in London. He attended Wetherby School, a preparatory school in Notting Hill, from 1987 to 1990.
